the animals : part one

The animals make a wonderful addition to the life of the camera and the rug. And naturally they love hanging out with the actual rugs of the house. These photographs have been taken over the past couple of weeks, and I think they accurately display just how much our cute critters like to lounge. I enjoyed playing around with Lightroom as well.

This is how Olie, our cat, likes to spend most of his day.

Sunbeam Kitty

Olie is a motivator for work.

If she could jump out, she would.

Beasley, our dog, is sometimes trouble and sometimes just plain cute.
I call this entry "Part One" because these guys will surely pop up on here again. They make our already lucky life feel that much more lucky.

We recently returned from a trip to Ithaca this past weekend.

Melissa was scheduled for two photography shoots and we also met up with a few of Melissa's friends.

Exhausted from the ride on Saturday morning, we woke up somewhat early to do an engagement shoot for a really interesting couple. They chose to have the photographs taken at Buttermilk falls, which at first seemed somewhat mundane, although upon arrival was much more beautiful than could have been predicted. Pretty amazing actually. It was the first time I had a heavy duty camera in my hands (Melissa's Sony) which now that I think about it was probably more comfortable than knowing it could have been tied up in Russian or Turkish Customs after an ebay auction with unusually high international interest.

We brought the hunting hound with us. That's Beasley... Although the only thing she's been hunting recently is Olie, and has been hounding us for attention. Needless to say, she can be a pretty good car buddy sometimes and is really good at eating donuts.

I started my new job today working as a online marketing manager at the family business. Hopped into it although the work schedule until June is a bit up in the air.

big ducks and fast cars

What are Dave and I standing in front of, you may be asking?

Oh, It's just some big, giant duck.

Yes, we are nerds.

Orange Punch

Part of Melissa's birthday celebration was to visit a restaurant in Port Chester. We have a tendency of being late, which in some ways worked out to our benefit this time. No birthday cake, so we were served a tub of orange colored rum with a shot of 151 on fire, four bottles of sake courtesy the owner who also insisted on 'partying like Lebron until the crack of dawn'

PS. There are times where I turn on the pocket camera and find interesting photographs. Here's one of them :-)
